Baby Reindeer is the new seven-part Netflix series that follows the horrific real-life story of Richard Gadd and his stalker. A fictionalised retelling of his own very real experience, Gadd originally brought his story to life via a one man show which received a 2020 Olivier Award.

Enticing, terrifying and undeniably compelling, Baby Reindeer has proven a hit amongst audiences already, with the series topping Netflix since its release on 11 April.

The drama sees Gadd play Donny Dun, an aspiring comedian who works in a pub to make ends meet. It's here that he first comes across Martha, a lonely looking woman who comes in and sits at the bar. Feeling sorry for her, Donny gives Martha some tea on the house and unknowingly sparks an interaction that then spirals into a relentless four and a half year period of stalking.

If, like us, you devoured the show in its entirety, you will have come across a dedication in the penultimate episode 6 of the series that reads “In loving memory of Llewellyn Harrison”.

So who was Llewellyn Harrison and why is Baby Reindeer dedicated to him?

Who was Llewellyn Harrison?

A JustGiving page was set up in tribute to Harrison to raise funds for his family, with it reading:

“Llewellyn was a much-loved colleague, friend and mentor to many. His sudden death has shocked us all, and his absence will be truly missed. We would like to take this opportunity to raise funds for the family he leaves behind.”

In the comments of the tribute page, Harrison is described as “lovely", "wonderful” and “the kindest man”.

Among the contributors is actor Joely Richardson, as well as colleagues and friends from Holby City and Clerkenwell Films, the production company who worked on Baby Reindeer.

One contributor wrote “He was a wonderful man who was a credit to his profession" while another reads “A laugh and a joke guaranteed, backed up with great technical ability, so personable, a great guy. Such tragic news.”

Harrison is described by one contributor as “the sweetest grip in the world,” adding: “the film industry will be a worse place without him.”
