Things are getting soapy on Facebook Watch.

Gen Z media brand Brat is prepping the premiere of teen soap Turnt on the social network’s video platform.

Turnt, which will span 40 episodes, is set to debut Aug. 1 with its first four episodes. After the launch, three new episodes will become available every three weeks for the remainder of the show’s run.

Created by Rachel Stern with Brat, Turnt follows an ensemble cast of characters as they navigate high school. Social media stars Madeleine Byrne, Elsie Hewitt and Cristian Oliveras (Wild ‘N Out) star in the series. Will Slocombe (The Escort) is directing.

“We’re excited to be working with Facebook Watch on this ambitious, provocative and timely project,” Brat co-founder Rob Fishman said.

Turnt marks the continued expansion of the digital-first Brat brand. The year-old startup — which has raised about $40 million from Anchorage Capital, Kevin Durant’s The Durant Co., Lerer Hippeau Ventures and Advancit Capital — focused its early efforts on YouTube, where it has built a subscriber base of around 2 million for such midform shows as Chicken Girls and A Girl Named Jo. The company, which reunites the co-founders of Twitter’s Niche, says that its programming generates over 500 million minutes of watch time each month.

Facebook’s Watch video platform, which launched in late August, has become home to a range of original programming, including shows such as Tom vs Time and Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk. The social network has also been building out its scripted programming with upcoming series such as Queen America, starring Catherine Zeta-Jones, and SKAM Austin
