Last night, I was lucky enough to attend the Eras Tour — it was Taylor Swift's first concert in her final group of London shows that will close out the European leg of her Eras Tour. I donned my sequins and cowboy boots, I screamed, I cried, I drank too much wine. The whole thing was a total dream.

As someone who spends a lot of her time covering entertainment news, there weren't too many surprises in the show. I knew all of the little chants. I was prepared for the beautiful “willow” glowing lanterns in the audience. I knew exactly when to dash out to visit the loo. But one thing I was no ready for was for the Taylor Swift surprise guest appearance of Ed Sheeran during the surprise acoustic section of the show.

Sheeran, a long-time friend and collaborator of Swift, joined her on stage to sing a mash-up of their songs “Everything Has Changed” and “End Game” and his song “Thinking Out Loud.” During his appearance, Swift gushed that Sheeran was like her “second brother.” “He works so hard and he's on tour right now and he's probably so tired, but he wanted to come and play for you and do this for all of us. So, give it up again for Ed Sheeran,” she said as the crowd shrieked around me.

Swift has four more shows lined up in Wembley — which brings us to a very important question. Who else might make a surprise appearance this weekend? Naturally, the Easter egg-hunting Swifties are already on the case. Here are all of the artists who might just appear as surprise guests in Swift's final European shows.

Niall Horan

Former One Direction member Niall Horan is a strong contender. Why? Well, this wouldn't be the first time Swift has brought him out during a tour. Back in 2018, she brought him out during her Reputation tour — and it was also during her stop at Wembley! It would just make sense.

Horan is currently on his own tour — he's heading to Dublin next week and has a date booked in London on September 3rd. But he is free this weekend…

Shawn Mendes

Shawn Mendes is another likely candidate for Taylor Swift special guest. He opened for Swift during her 1989 tour and also appeared as a special guest during her Reputation tour. Plus, as some Swifties have noted, he's actually in the UK right now having just performed in London.

Bon Iver

Swift collaborated with American band Bon Iver on her album folklore and has had a close relationship with them ever since. In 2022, she appeared as a special guest during their show in London to sing their song “exile.” However, Bon Iver may be a less likely option as they were last spotted in the US last week performing at a rally for Kamala Harris.

Halsey

One fan suggested that Halsey might make an appearance as a surprise guest. They played an unexpected intimate gig at London's KOKO a few days ago. Long-time friends, Halsey and Swift have performed together at the 2019 American Music Awards

Florence and the Machine

Florence and the Machine's London-based Florence Welch appears on Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department, singing on the track “Florida.” The pair haven't appeared on stage together yet, but it would make so much sense if she was a Taylor Swift surprise guest. In fact, Welch has already teased that it's a possibility. “If I was gonna do it, it would be a surprise,” she said to British Vogue earlier this year.
