Miramax has secured TV rights to Halloween and will develop a series based on the long-running horror franchise. The company made a broad deal with rights holder Trancas International Films that covers not only a TV series, but also related projects for international markets and, potentially, a linked universe spanning TV and film. No writer is attached yet.
Miramax produced the David Gordon Green’s 2018-22 Halloween trilogy along with Trancas and Blumhouse Productions. During a former incarnation of the company, Miramax’s Dimension films was behind five of the movies in the 13-film franchise.

Miramax acquiring TV rights to Halloween comes as the company, jointly owned by BeIN Media and Paramount Global, is looking to develop more projects based on IP it owns. Miramax also has TV series in the works based on Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen and 2000 Oscar nominee Chocolat, among others.
