On the final episode of Lopez Tonight, George Lopez didn’t lash out at his former employer, TBS, but instead kept the focus off his own situation. He chatted with guests including Desperate Housewives actress Eva Longoria, Lakers players Ron Artest and Derek Fisher, and actor Arsenio Hall.
Lopez’s opening monologue only briefly touched on his exit.
“I just figured out what I’m gonna do. I’m going to take Lopez Tonight, like Kobe we’re going to go play in Turkey,” Lopez began.
He then shifts gears, moving on to talking about President Obama. He jokes that Obama would be a “more effective president” if he were “100 percent” African-American because he could swear.

Lopez, standing with Longoria, Artest, Fisher and Hall, thanked and said goodbye to his friends and audience in the final moments of the show.
“I want to thank my fans who have followed me from stand-up to my sitcom, and to Lopez Tonight. It’s been great.” He also thanked Sandra Bullock, “who, 11 years ago, took a chance on me,” he said.

TBS announced on Wednesday that Lopez Tonight would not get a third season. The series premiered in November 2009, and has struggled to garner broad viewership in an competitive late night landscape.
“Thanks for all the love, I love you back,” Lopez tweeted after his final show hit the air.
