We all have a favourite foundation be it dewy, hydrating, pore refining, long-lasting and imagine if there was a formula to do it all? Enter Cle De Peau

When we think of Cle De Peau, we automatically think of pure opulence. Already featuring eyeshadow palettes and lipsticks that perfectly contour around your pout, Cle De Peau has expanded their makeup range to include a glowy and radiance-inducing foundation. Much like their first radiant foundation range, this base product is supposed to make your makeup look like skin but better. Reformulated with cutting-edge optical technology which is inspired by diamonds (of course), it maximises the illusion of light on the skin, giving you the healthiest glows. It also promises to deliver dewiness with lasting power and smooth feeling-and-looking skin.

The range features 31 shades, that spread accross very light to deep skintones while simultaneously complementing different undertones. Music to our ears. We can't ignore the stagging price tag though, for £108 per bottle, is this really worth every penny? So in true GLAMOUR form, we asked five people to put it to the test and here are their honest thoughts.

I'm very picky when it comes to my foundation – I love full coverage formulas but never want to look cakey or flat. Because Clé de Peau is known for their skincare, I assumed the foundation would be super lightweight with a radiant finish (it is called Radiance Cream Foundation after all) and wasn't holding my breath that I would like the finish.

However, the foundation is pretty full-on when it comes to coverage (in a good way!) and melts into skin to hide every colour irregularity and blemish while remaining supremely natural-looking. The finish is pretty matte, but with a slight hint of radiance, which is exactly how I like it (if I want more glow, I can add it strategically in certain areas).

The formula wore very well, and didn't settle into lines or look cakey in direct sunlight. My only qualm would be the name as it's slightly misleading (it should be called Velvet Cream Foundation or something) and, of course, the price. At £108, it's at the more expensive end of the spectrum but, in its defense, it does have a lot going for it to justify the price tag.

With A-list fans like Kim K and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, I knew Clé de Peau had to be special. But I’ll be honest I was a little sceptical about this foundation at first - after all, what could a £108 foundation do differently to something at half that price point? Turns out there is a difference - and if you’re looking for a foundation that makes you look like you’ve had a full 12 hours of sleep (when in reality you’ve only had 5) this is the miracle you’ve been waiting for.

The first thing I noticed was the coverage — pigmented enough to hide blemishes but lightweight enough to still let my skin’s natural texture show through (minus the fine lines). My skin felt hydrated and looked super fresh throughout the day. Overall, it gave me a really healthy glow - one that didn’t go unnoticed by friends! My one gripe is that this foundation is a little on the dewy side, which I personally don’t love.

I have normal skin but found my T-Zone did get a little shiny throughout the day. If you prefer a matt finish like I do - or have combination skin - you’ll probably want to set this foundation with a powder. As a fan of the natural “no-makeup” look, this foundation definitely hit the mark! Plus it doubles up as a skincare product so not only does your skin look good, it also feels great — a win in my eyes!

What is good makeup without a flawless base? The answer is nothing. For the most epic flawless, dewy finish, you have got to have a good foundation. Foundation is one of those products I also don’t mind investing in. Cle De Peau is luxury head-to-toe, and everything from the packaging to the formulation must live up to that level of opulence. Although the foundation is not as price-friendly as a lot of what you’ll find in the high street, the quality sure does make up for it.

On first thought, I thought the packaging was a little on the small side. Perhaps not ideal for everyday use even? However, after application, it made sense. It almost encourages you to use sparingly and luckily, a little goes a long way. You can get plenty of coverage from just one squeeze. On application it feels soft and creamy, not cakey and left me with a natural and subtle dewy finish, just how I like it. It didn’t oxidise, settle in between lines after hours of use, or transfer too much throughout the day which is great. Having SPF 25 for extra protection is a very friendly bonus!

The joy I get when I find a foundation that both complements my dark complexion and balances my golden undertones means that I will happily go at it again — that is if my bank account allows, and money was no object of course.

When it comes to foundations, I’ve had my fair share of cakey-face situations, so now I always think less is more. I tend to gravitate towards foundations that feel light on the skin but give me enough coverage that lasts all day without looking too heavy. A lot to ask, I know. My initial reaction to the new Cléu Du Peau Radiant Cream Foundation was firstly how smoothly it went on the skin. It was so easy to apply and a little went a long way. I also noticed that it smelt of skin care rather than make up.

My forehead is much darker than the rest of my face, so I find colour matching an absolute pain. I went for Buff Tan Light and at first when I applied the product, I thought it was too light, there was no way it was going to look good on me. But after blending it out, it was the perfect match. It gave me the dewy skin I've always wanted without looking sweaty. However, I do think the price point is rather steep, especially when you do get less product in the bottle than other brands, but the finish on the skin is gorgeous. Plus it has SPF 25 too so extra bonus points. Definitely a payday treat!

I wasn’t sure what to expect from Clé de Peau Beauté having never tried anything from the brand before, but reading the reviews on some of their bestsellers soon got me excited. I’m super picky when it comes to foundations; I have dry skin so I don’t like anything mattifying, but equally, I need something that’s going to last me longer than four hours. The struggle is real.

The Radiant Cream Foundation just might be my answer, though. It glided on like a dream and gave my complexion a nicely nourished finish (as though I’d just applied my fave moisturiser). The coverage is slightly sheerer than my usual go-to, but I actually didn’t mind that as I quite like to still be able to see my freckles. I’d only mark it down for the fact I found it moved around a bit when I began to apply the rest of my makeup - perhaps I’ll be less impatient and leave it to dry a bit longer next time.
