Actor and former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has commissioned three bronze sculptures of himself in his bodybuilding prime.
Based on a 1980 clay statue by Ralph Crawford measuring 22 inches in height, the new pieces are “heroic size,” according to artisan Tim Parks. Parks, whose company TW Bronze cast the work, told the Wallowa County Chieftain that the statues were roughly “life-and-a-quarter” size and would all be shipped to their destinations by the end of the year.

The first completed bronze will be sent to Schwarzenegger’s hometown of Thal, Austria, where it will be housed at a museum dedicated to his bodybuilding career.
Schwarzenegger visited Wallowa County, Oregon earlier this month to inspect the works-in-progress.
Future castings of the sculpture will be limited to an edition of seven, notes the Chieftain.
Aside from the statues, Schwarzenegger will also be leaving a historical imprint via a new memoir that he’s writing for Simon & Schuster. Titled Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story, the book will cover Schwarzenegger’s careers as body builder, actor and politician.
The autobiography will be published in Oct. 2012. Schwarzenegger began working on the project in 2010, and started formally collaborating on it with former Fortune executive editor Peter Petre earlier this year, according to the publisher. Petre is the co-author autobiographies by Alan Greenspan, Norman Schwarzkopf, and longtime IBM president and philanthropist, Thomas Watson, Jr.
