Bio:
Allen Iverson (born in Hampton, Virginia on June 7, 1975) is a retired American basketball player who spent most of his career with the Philadelphia 76ers. After spending time in and out of prison at the age of 17, Allen was approached by the basketball coach at Georgetown University, who offered him a full scholarship to join the team. In 1996, Allen signed with the Philadelphia 76ers and played 14 seasons in the National Basketball Association (NBA). He was an 11-time NBA All-Star and Most Valuable Player in 2001. Allen retired in January 2013, after declining an offer to play for the Texas Legends of the NBA D-League.

Allen is best known for being a professional basketball player who won the All-Star game MVP award in 2001 and 2005 and yet has never won an NBA championship. He played as a shooting guard and point guard. At 6 feet tall, Allen is the shortest first overall draft pick ever.

Personal Life:
Allen was married to Tawanna Turner from 2001-2013. Together they have 5 children, Isaiah Rahsaan Iverson, 12, Messiah Lauren Iverson, 10, Dream Alijha Iverson, 7, Tiaura Iverson and Allen Iverson II. Tawanna filed for divorce in 2011, which resulted in a very nasty and public custody battle.
